The Top 10 Best Fall Festivals for the Entire Family

Keene Pumpkin Festival - New Hampshire, Oct. 20

Enormous towers of glowing lanterns, music, fireworks, food vendors, children's programing and community participation draw in huge crowds for this Guinness World Record holding event.

Whether we want to start talking about it or not, a certain holiday is right around the corner. You know, the one that leaves our back account severely depleted if we aren’t careful. With barely enough time to recover from all of the back-to-school shopping. Around this time of year, it can be challenging to think of frugal ways to spend time together as a family.

Activities that you can all actually ENJOY, that are either free or quite reasonable. Activities where you can plan ahead a bit and bring along  hot chocolate or warm cider in a big thermos, cozy sweaters and a big wool blanket to make your festival’ing (yes, it’s a term) all that more enjoyable.

Chances are pretty good that there are some local autumn festivals your way. You may even be lucky enough to live near one of these amazing festivals. Which, if that’s the case, I’m jealous. Perhaps this round-up of amazing Fall Festivals from around the world will have inspired you to check out what’s going on closer to you. Many festivals offer free or cheap admission to go towards a local cause; with tons of  things to see and do – including great activities for kids and adults of all ages much like the ones you’ve just read about.

They are wrong with the dates of Chicagoween. Its not all month long, just the 26TH – 30th. Might have been an honest mistake, but you don’t want to confuse people.

  6. Kim L says:

Check out our festival, Our festival is located in WV, it centers around the Pumpkin House. The Pumpkin House is a victorian style house with 3,000 carved pumpkins!
