These Mother and Daughter Yoga Poses Make for an Adorably Impressive Duo [PHOTOS]

Be prepared to see some of the cutest images you’ve seen all day, perhaps all week. As a mom who regularly practices yoga and takes her kids to toddler yoga practices and has home sessions when she can — this sweet little series resonated with me.

On many levels.

It resonates creatively, as someone who loves photography, and holistically, as a mom who is passionate about keeping yoga in my family’s life.

Keeping my kids in practice, or at least involved together in physical fitness of some form is so important to me and can be a challenge in the daily grind and gong show that is life with home, work and kids.

My appreciation of what yoga instructor Laura Kasperzak is teaching to and sharing with her daughter, her little ‘Mini’ is something that I’m sure we can all agree upon and enjoy together, in all of its adorable and visually stunning exhibition of mother and daughter at play and at work. You might even learn a thing or two about some of the poses and traditional Sanskrit names and meanings! Laura and her ‘Mini’ show us a fantastic example of what a disciplined practice yoga is as both a true art form and an impressive example of what the human body can do, no matter the age and how we can intrinsically bond with our children.

I hope you’re inspired too. All photos used with permission via Laura Kasperzak of Two Fit Moms. Be sure to follow her Instagram account for daily yoga inspiration and how-to videos!

This is a playful mix-up of Laura doing a Salamba Sirsasana, a supported headstand, while Mini brings her palms into Anjali (meaning "offering" with palms to the heart in a sacred hand gesture) in combination with an Utkata Konasana, or Goddess Asana (pose).

I mean seriously! More Salamba Sirsasana (headstand) poses with Laura and Mini. So cute.

Mom is in a beautiful Urdhva Dhanurasana (Upward Bow or Wheel Pose) and Mini is on her tummy in a Dhanurasana (Bow Pose). As Laura stated on her Instagram caption for this photo, she asked Mini to change her hand placement, to no avail. Boobs are rather supportive after all.

I'm wondering how Mini got up there. Is Laura's strength and balance so good that she can stay put while her little climbs up on her and gets into pose? As someone who knows how incredible difficult handstands are, YES.

...Stays together. It's true. Much like brushing teeth. It's clear that Laura is definitely a fan of inversions and handstands. Here she is in another Urdhva Dhanurasana (Upward Bow or Wheel Pose) and Mini is doing a little Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose).

Tow cuties in extended Cobra poses. What a connection these two have. The great thing about doing yoga at home is that you can wear Hello Kitty gear!

Mom and daughter both in a Dhanurasana (Bow Pose). They both have incredible form that only comes from practice and huge smiles to boot!

  • Not for the Weak 8 of 10

Yoga hug meets one of the hardest moves to pull off. The Parivrtta Koundinyasana (one-legged arm balance asana) is something that I have yet to pull off but I'll get there! That takes some serious skill, especially with a tot on one's back!

A precious little moment between mama and her girl Mini in the Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), while her mama rocks yet another badass pose.

Check out the form on Mini's Natarajasana (Lord of the Dance Pose). So what if she's leaning on her mama while she's at it? Something tells me she doesn't need the support! Once again the matching gear puts the cute factor over the top.

If you’d like to learn more about some basic yoga poses before you get into all of those hot handstands and inversions, check out this chart or this one! We’ve been finding ourselves at home more and more, especially during this horrible winter and especially since I’ve found this free online resource with high quality, FREE yoga videos! You’re welcome?
