This Week in the Toddler Times of Huckleberry Holbrook

Hey guys! Huck here. Here’s what I’ve been up to this week.

Hi guys. So, I don't know about where you are, but it's hot out here. Whew! Mom's been introducing me to the wonders of ice cream cones. We like to buy them off trucks on the street, and sometimes when it's so hot we can't bear to be outside, we sit in the air conditioned McDonald's and eat our cones there. This is me sharing my ice cream with my cow. His name is Moo. Aren't I such a good sharer? Mom and I were wondering if a cow eating ice cream is kind of creepy. Like ... I don't know. Think about it.

So many playgrounds, so little time. This here is a giant camel. Some of these playgrounds are just weird, is all I can figure.

This week I've become really attached to certain toys. I can't--I won't!--sleep without my Alex The Lion, or my Nemo Fish, or my Grumpy Bear (Mom's old Care Bear). And then randomly I'll get attached to plastic goats for a day or two. Mom thinks it's funny, but that it's better than when I was littler and I was in love with bottle caps. Do you remember that? Oh, bottle caps!

I've gotten to be such a big boy at the playground that Mom can kind of take it easy. She doesn't worry that I'm going to trip over my own feet too much (though sometimes if I get too excited I'll stumble a bit) and when I climb on the play structures, I'm so careful and confident that she doesn't feel like she has to hover! IN FACT! Just the other day I went down the slide BY MYSELF. With no coercing or coaching. And I did GREAT! Now I love the slides. Fear of slides: CONQUERED!

Hey so let's talk about CHOCOLATE. It's my new word. In my head it sounds like "chocolate" but when I actually say it it goes "KAA." Mom lets me have just a little after dinner most nights. She also tells all the babysitters where she hides the stash in case things get hairy. And I am a PRO at getting things hairy.
