This Week In The Toddler Times of Huckleberry Holbrook

Hi guys! It’s me, Huck! Here’s what I’ve been up to this week.

Hi guys! Did you miss me? Last week my Mom and I flew to California for a family reunion! Just us two. It was super fun! I had a great time!

Of course we went to Disneyland! Let me tell you, my Mom was just a little nervous about taking a full-on running toddler to Disneyland without my Dad around to help out, but you know, I think she did okay.

It was tough though, cause did I mention I like to RUN?! I do! And I can run real fast. I also like to be held. Like, all the time. If I'm not running, that is. Yeah, I'm a people person. I want to see your face, not your knee caps! So whenever Mom tried to put me in my stroller I sort of got real mad. She spent a lot of time carrying me all over that park! (Good thing my strong Uncles and Grandpa were there to help out, too. I'm heavy!)

See this face? Could you deny this face?

This is me and my Guapo. Isn't he great? Man, we had SO much fun bumming around that park together! And riding all those rides together! Any time I'd see my Guapo I'd reach out for him and say "EHHH!" Um, I'm still working on my words.

Basically the thing about Disneyland is, it brings out all the extremes of toddlerhood. One minute I'm a delight, and the next minute I'm a total mess. Mom didn't even share her churro with me! (Something about too much sugar getting all over my clothes.) She DID share her Dole Whip with me but I was like, MO-OM, that yellow is a stinky color. So.

This is me and my Mom on the spinny ride in It's A Bug's Life. Yeah, neither of us really liked that ride. My favorite ride was Pirates! Mom was a little curious about whether or not that ride would be too scary (Haunted Mansion, too). But I think I'm still too young to be scared of ghosts. Though that second drop on Pirates did sort of make me feel unsure about things! Yikes! But I loved the music and I loved all the pigs and cats in Pirates! I just laughed and laughed all the way through. Silly puppy, not giving up those keys!

After Disneyland we spent some time at the beach. Let me tell you, that ocean is RAD! I just wanted to run all the way into it! Mom kept trying to pull me out of the water when it got past my thighs and I just did not understand. Mom, what are you doing to a kid? Don't you know this ocean is only thigh-deep all the way through? Geez, it's like she thinks I can't swim or something. I also wanted to rub my whole body with that funny brown stuff. What was that amazingness? It tasted REALLY GOOD.

So, vacations with a toddler are super tiring. I know I'M pretty beat! But super fun too, if you have lots of strong arms to help out and you're not opposed to going to bed with me THE MINUTE I fall asleep so you aren't too tired to do it all again the next day. But it's super good to be back home, I'll say! And good luck to my Mom getting me back on East Coast time after all that! (Got any tips for her?)
    Till next week!
    Love,
    Huck
