Thursday Tunes: Toddler PlaylistBeth Anne Ballance
I’m not an overly “cool” person when it comes to music. My first tape that I ever owned was Amy Grant, the first CD was the Forest Gump soundtrack, and I spent my teenage years swooning to N’Sync. I don’t like live music and I’m really not a fan of concerts. I don’t like the drunk teenagers and crowds and when the songs sound different then what I’m used to on the studio album. I’m not usually the first person to know who an artist is, although I do have two instances of loving someone before they became big stars:
1) Colbie Caillat. I loved her back in her MySpace days and had her music on my page months before “Bubbly” was heard over the radio.
2) Joy Williams. Did you know she had a Christian music career long before The Civil Wars?
It’s all very hipster of me to say that I knew they were cool before they were cool.
Then again, I like showtunes, which means I just lost all street cred I might have gained.
One of my favorite past times is creating new playlists for Harrison and I to listen to in the car and I thought I’d start sharing them with you in hopes that you’ll share right back! Here’s our current “Harrison Tunes” album that gets both of us dancing in our seats at stoplights:
Sunny Day 1 of 9Joy Williams
You Might Think 2 of 9Weezer, Cars 2 soundtrack
Brighter Than the Sun 3 of 9Colbie Caillat
Life Less Ordinary 4 of 9Carbon Leaf, Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey! soundtrack
Talk of the Town 5 of 9Jack Johnson, Curious George soundtrack
I Just Can’t Wait to be King 6 of 9Lion King soundtrack
