5 Tips for Having a Good PlaygroupMolly Thornberg
Wednesdays are my kids day. Mom’s work takes a back seat and we get together with a group of friends who have kids similar to our age and find something fun to do. The kids run and play for a few hours. I get to socialize with other moms that are in the same boat as I’m in (crazy toddler years). By the end of our play date, the kids are exhausted, by the time we are home, the kids are zapped.
5 Tips for a Good Play Group
Keep the Location Centralized to Everyone
Since our groups are from various cities in a 10-mile radius, each week we meet in different places. This keeps it fresh and not always close to one person.
Use a Facebook Private Group to Keep Connected
Using Facebook has been key to helping us all be on the same page in regards to where we meet as well as everything going on in our lives.
Schedule Moms Only Playdates
Play groups are a great way to meet mom friends. Schedule time without the kids. It’s funny how different people are when they aren’t in mommy mode.
Change Up the Activities
Change up your play date activities with some variety. Find out what each mom likes to do and take turns deciding where and what to do.
Designate a Leader
Having someone who knows they are in charge definitely keeps the group going.
