Two Thumbs up for this Week

Oh, you know.  Just welcoming in my final year in my twenties and I’m not sure whether to open a bottle of champagne or play Taps.  It’s  a total toss-up but I am determined to not do one of those “30 Before 30” lists that will inevitably make me feel like a sore loser. My husband brought home a lovely arrangement of roses for me, along with a cookie cake and a bottle of T. Swift’s new perfume.

Don’t judge me.  Those pop princesses know how to make you smell yummy.

The BEST gift I received this week was a phone call from our realtor that OUR HOUSE SOLD!  100% no-contingency sold and we have a closing date of July 13th.  Yes, that’s a Friday the 13th.  No, I’m not superstitious.  Now we just have to get past the inspection and find a new place of our own in the next five weeks.  NO PRESSURE. And while I’m not sure any other gift could top the house selling, I’m putting in a request that next year for my 30th birthday, I would like clear skin.  I can’t even think about wrinkle creams yet because I’m too busy trying to find an acne regime that works for me.  Counting just today, I have 3 zits on my chin, 3 on my nose, and 2 on my right cheek.  Too much information?  Sorry.

So here’s what we did this past week:

(p.s. what on earth did bloggers do before Instagram?  actually use our $500 DSLRs?  crazy town.)

Those moments that really make me feel like a momma.
Waiting by his shoes while he played with little friends in a bounce house. I looked down and there's my big feet (desperate for a pedicure!) and his tiny shoes and it just WHAM! I'm a momma!
  • Watching an old favorite. 2 of 7
    Watching an old favorite.
We introduced Harry to The Fox and The Hound this past week and he LOVED it. Anything with animals is just his style and it wasn't as sad as I remembered it being.
  • What a big boy! 3 of 7
    What a big boy!
Y'all, my heart is bursting with pride and splitting in two. That's my big kid on a big kid swing and I'm not sure I'm ready for this new milestone.
  • Lots of relaxing on the weekend. 4 of 7
Lots of relaxing on the weekend.
It's been several weekends since we had the chance to just chill out. Harrison was thrilled to be home (and so were we!).
  • I have the bestest friends ever. 5 of 7
I have the bestest friends ever.
My friend Brandy (@mannlymama) brought me a favorite Gigi's cupcake at work! So delicious.
  • Backyard fun. 6 of 7
    Backyard fun.
Our backyard is toddler entertainment central - splash pool, little swimming pool, swingset, chalkboard, trampoline. I cringe to think of moving it all.
  • Crazy tunnel slide vortex. 7 of 7
    Crazy tunnel slide vortex.
We went down this INSANE slide together at a local farm where I sat on a burlap sack and put him in my lap. So much fun!
