What Happens When Daddy's in Charge!

The other evening I was inside cleaning up dishes after dinner while my kiddos and husband were outside. They were playing nicely (or so I thought), and he was working on a project.

I often let them play outside by themselves, just checking on them occasionally, and this time I knew that daddy was out there with them, so I wasn’t too worried about what they might do, or get into.

But, about 10 minutes later, I hear my husband, “Um… Em, you should probably come out here! Now!”

I didn’t hear any crying or screaming, so I wasn’t sure what the big deal was.

That was until I walked out the backed door.

And saw that my kids were completely covered in mud!

It was one of those time when you just have to laugh, because otherwise you might cry. And then go grab your camera. But really, what’s more fun as a kid than covering yourself from head to toe in mud?

“How did this happen?” I asked my husband. He looked sheepishly at me, “Um… I don’t know, I was just busy working on this.” So much for daddy supervising!

My kids were having a ball, but what they didn’t realize is that it would be freezing when they had to get sprayed down before they were allowed to come inside!

What big mess have your kids made that makes you want to laugh, cry, and take pictures all at the same time?
