Where The Hell Are Max & Ruby's Parents?

Where?!?!?

If you have a toddler and get cable… you have probably watched Max & Ruby somewhere along the line.

The show is about a brother and sister duo with all kinds of adventures and the  projects they partake in. Ruby is Max’s older and extremely bossy sister. In fact, if Ruby were my sister I am sure I would have told her to screw off by now. But Max is a trooper, putting up with her and whatever she drags him into. Or whatever older-sibling abuse she dishes out for the day.

In fact some people along the way have actually thought Ruby was Max’s mother because she is just that damn bossy.

But alas, Ruby is an older sister and Max is a pretty non-verbal toddler.

Watching the entire series a couple dozen times has lead me to one damn question… Where in the hell are their parents? You never ever see their mom or dad. Occasionally their grandmother will come by their house, or they will visit her at her house. But never have we seen actual parental units.

Now I know these rabbits aren’t orphans, but damn… Ruby takes Max everywhere!  Clothes shopping, selling Bunny Scout cookies, tea parties…you name it and she’s taken him there. Maybe she is just a built-in babysitter for the younger rabbit?  Kind of like the Duggars?

I resigned myself to never knowing the answer until a couple of nights ago. After watching an episode with my toddler I got onto my Facebook fan page and asked all of the lovely readers my burning question – where the hell are Max & Ruby’s parents?!?!!?!?!?

The comedy that ensued from that point on was absolutely too priceless not to share. The magical excuses some readers have actually made up as to where the negligent parents were hanging out had me laughing so hard I cried.

So here you have it… Where Max & Ruby’s parents really are!

    Vacation!
Kira one of the readers suggested Max & Ruby's parents are on a vacation... a very long vacation. Or maybe even a work trip? One they never want to come home from!

    At Work!
Didn't you know in this economy most households need two parents working full time! Well rabbits are no exception! They still have a mortgage and bills to pay!

    They Ran!
This one made me laugh hysterically... KC suggested that when they realized how damn bossy Ruby is they ran for the hills and never looked back! Pretty believable if you ask me!

    Drinking to Deal with Ruby?
A couple suggested you would need a couple good stiff drinks to deal with Ruby for too long... so of course naturally their parents are either at the bar or the liquor store right?

    They lost their mind...
Maybe it was too much Ruby? Maybe it was too many rabbits in their lives? Maybe they just couldn't handle parenthood... either way they have a nice padded room at a health care facility!

    Vegas
When all else fails... run to Vegas right? I am willing to bet that is exactly what their parents did... and so is @hchybinski on twitter!

Ruby Locked them in the Basement...
Ruby wanted to be in charge so much... she locked them away in the basement and no one has heard from them since!

    They are Camera Shy
They aren't down with reality television! They decided they don't want to be on camera for the show. Totally understandable these days with all these crazy shows right?

They are doing Missionary Work in South America
Who would have thought? Max & Ruby's parents are really spreading the word of God in another country... really? Well I guess anything goes!
