We travel a lot as a family, and I do quite a bit on my own for business, but several times a year, an opportunity will arise where I can take just one child with me on travel trips. Last year, my youngest daughter joined me on a trip to Turks & Caicos and the experience taught me more about my daughter in four days than I would have known had I not whisked her away for 3 days on a mother and daughter trip. I couldn’t wait for my eldest daughter’s turn!
Negril, Jamaica was the first place I ever visited. My parents took me there when I was three years old, so although I don’t remember the experience, I’ve always wanted to return. As luck would have it, we were invited on a trip to Beaches Negril, so my daughter and I had our chance for a one-on-one trip, and it exceeded my expectations.
Oh, yes we did! The Red Lane Spa at Beaches Negril is nothing short of extravagant and relaxing. This was my daughter's first trip to a day spa, and it didn't disappoint. We had a mother/daughter massage, a treatment offered to the guests of the resort.
Big Bird was one of my all-time favourite characters growing up. We had a chance to meet him and the other characters from Sesame Street during the character breakfast by the water. Talk about a full circle moment!
The staff at Beaches Negril arranges plenty of fun activities for the kids to take part in and crafts was one of them. We were able to decorate seashells with glitter and created some fun pieces to take home with us.
