We spent our entire summer road tripping through Ontario and the United States, discovering new destinations and taking our children on exciting adventures. Our form of transportation? Four different vehicles. We’ve road tested the Chevrolet Traverse, Honda Pilot, Toyota Sienna Limited and most recently the Ford Explorer Sport 2013 with a V6 EcoBoost engine. I was excited to test out this vehicle, as it’s been receiving some pretty great reviews in the industry.
The Explorer is categorized as a full-size SUV and seats 7 passengers. There are certainly some neat features in this vehicle, including a clever Terrain Management System that optimizes power and torque depending on the driving conditions. You can change your settings depending on whether you are driving on regular, sandy, snowy or hilly terrain – all with the turn of a dial.
SUV vehicles are notorious for being gas guzzlers, however the Ford Explorer claims to be one of the best on the market when it comes to fuel efficiency.
So, did the Ford Explorer live up to the hype? Was the gas mileage impressive or a complete disappointment? Find out why we will/will not be purchasing this vehicle for our family in the video below. [videopost src=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCwpGX992MI’]
