Kate Middleton, The Duchess Of Cambridge To Christen Cruise Ship

PRINCESS CRUISES THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGEEverything about Princess Cruises’ recent announcement is so very fitting. The line announced yesterday that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) will name their newest ship the Royal Princess. Royal Princess, Royal Godmother – smart no?

The 3,600-passenger ship is a new-generation class and will offer many new features such as an expanded atrium, over-water SeaWalk, plush private poolside cabanas, Princess Live! television studio, a top-deck glass-bottomed walkway that extends 28 feet beyond the edge of the ship and an incredible new private dining experience called Chef’s Table Lumiere, that will surround diners in a curtain of light.

Kate Middleton will name the ship during a ceremony in Southampton on Thursday, June 13. The ceremony will be done in true British tradition with the pipers of the Irish Guards, a performance by the Royal Marines band and the blessing.

After sailing on her maiden voyage, the Royal Princess will sail through the Mediterranean during the summer and will then follow up with Eastern Caribbean cruises in the fall.
