Lots of fun stuff happening at Legoland in Florida this year. Two days ago, the theme park announced their latest addition to the park which is scheduled to arrive summer 2013. Based on the new Lego product line ‘Legends of Chima’ the new addition will submerse families into a fantasy world brought to life. Kids and their parents will have the opportunity to embark on a highly-interactive water ride experience, the Quest for CHI. They will also be transported to the Land of Chima with a new 4D movie and will have the opportunity to meet Chima characters.
LEGO Legends of Chima has become extremely popular over the last 12 years as fans have embraced the storyline of warriors, tribes and the struggle between good and evil in a mystical land. Cartoon Network is the official presenting partner of the new expansion and the Official Kids Cable Network so we will be seeing quite a bit from them in the park’s new addition. Screens will be placed around the park to visually entertain guests.
Interesting don’t you think? Television screens in a theme park featuring cartoon content and series viewings…
The main attraction will be ‘The Quest of CHI’ water ride. According to the press release issued by the park,
“Guests will enter The World of Chima through a fantastical stone and moss covered entrance which leads to the Lion Temple at the base of the majestic 45-foot tall floating Mount Cavora. There, guests will explore a diverse landscape setting and join the Lion Tribe in an epic battle to recover the stolen CHI orbs. Guests will board a watercraft which will take them on an interactive experience using water cannons to help their hero, Laval the Lion Prince, defeat Cragger the Crocodile King as he attempts to steal the precious supply of CHI. The journey will take them through the land of Chima where they will meet some of the highly advanced animal tribal habitats, including the Rhino Quarry, Raven’s Roost, Eagle’s Nest, Wolves Encampment, Gorilla Forest and Crocodile Swamp among other imaginative settings.”
Funky. There is also a Speedorz Arena where kids and adults can build their own Speedorz and compete against each other by overcoming a series of various obstacles.
Cool stuff! What do you think of the new addition? Clearly Legoland is doing something right if they have decided to expand so soon. They just opened in 2011!
