Meet the New Babble Travel Blogger

Babble_AshleyMuirBruhn-1Hello there! I’m Ashley and I’m very excited to join this team of writers at Babble’s new Travel blog! Until recently, I was a book editor at a publishing house in Manhattan, living in a tiny 500-square-foot apartment with my husband and one-year-old son (who slept in the closet), and chronicling a love affair with New York City on my personal blog, Hither & Thither.

Then, this past September, the three of us flew around the world to Bali (where we stopped and spent a month) before relocating to a small University town in Northern California–the very place my husband, Aron, and I met and fell in love as undergraduates. I’m now a freelance writer and editor, and a stay-at-home parent to our son, Hudson.

In addition to blogging for Babble, I continue to write daily on my travel and lifestyle blog, Hither & Thither. There I feature family, design, food, style, New York and California and everything (and everywhere) in between. We share extensive travelogues from family vacations (in fact, Hither & Thither was named the best travel blog for families by Babble!), and make traveling as a family a top priority. But I really believe that the site is, as the name implies, as much about the “here” as the “there”—it’s about having an adventure, wherever you are.

And now, I’m looking forward to talking through all the excitement and the preparation, the rewards and the challenges, the anticipation and the hesitation (and all of the crazy gear) that comes with traveling as a family, here, with you on Babble.

I hope you’ll follow along!
