ShrekFeast At Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Florida

Do your kids love Shrek? The ShrekFeast at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimee, Florida is the best character dining experience we’ve ever had. The food is incredible, the characters are fabulous and the service was excellent. We dined here on the morning of our arrival to the resort and everyone had an amazing time.

This experience is really geared towards kids. Before you eat, you are sworn in as an ogre and promise to be as gross as you possibly can. Your welcome drink? Swamp juice, a delightful cocktail of kiwi juice and other fruit juices. The Snot Fountain is another big hit. Think tinted white chocolate with cubes of cake and strawberries to dip in. Gross, but cool.

Gaylord Palms is an incredible resort with so much to offer for families and they are partnered with DreamWorks so look for characters from Madagascar, Shrek and Kung Fu Panda during the day’s activities. The ShrekFeast was most definitely one of the main highlights for us. It is offered March through December 2013 at the Villa de Flora restaurant, every Saturday and Sunday (8:00 AM 10:30 AM). Even if you are not a guest at the resort, you can still book this experience as it is open to the public!

Price: $29.95 Adult (ages 13+) | $19.95 Child (ages 4 12)

Yes, that is a real snot fountain! Okay, not quite "real." White chocolate is tinted the perfect shade of green to make this as realistic as possible. There are cake cubes and marshmallows on hand to dip in.

Or you can create your own custom dish. I took one of the mini waffles, topped it with strawberries and drizzled it with green "snot." YUM! My kids got a huge, huge kick out of this!

The kids were so excited when Shrek finally arrived! Fiona brought him over and she stayed for a good 5-10 minutes chatting with us. These aren't quickies, the characters really interact with your family.

If not, you are always welcome to take your own! We took a bunch of photos of the kids and then had one of the waitresses take one of us as a family. As you can tell, the kids had an amazing time! We can't wait to go back!
