Business travel and family travel go hand-in-hand for my husband and I. It doesn’t matter whether our trip is business related or purely pleasure, we have to be connected at all times due to the nature of our home business. Spotty internet connections and poor business services are not an option, so we make sure to thoroughly research the establishment beforehand.
Westin Hotels & Resorts has rolled out an incredible new concept called Tangent. Formerly known as “Project Hive,” this space is designed to meet the needs of today’s mobile traveler (75% off the workforce in the U.S.). The space has everything you could ever need and comes full equipped with video conferencing that is available at a four person seated workspace. Instead of working in the traditional hotel room or lobby area, this smart room is a personalized workspace that can be booked by the hour at a moments notice.
The colors used to decorate the space are calming and neutral, inspired by the colors found in crystals and minerals (base of grey with touches of amber, emerald and sapphire blue). Other features include:
- Televisions, printers, sound systems, Xbox 360® for games or DVDs.
- Meeting privacy for groups up to four who require small group meetings or teleconferences.
- Floor-to-ceiling white boards.
- Fully stocked office supplies.
- Wired and wireless internet for no additional fee.
- Plenty of outlets.
You can find Tangent at The Westin Boston Waterfront, The Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel and The Westin Grand Munich. They plan on rolling it out to 40 hotels worldwide this year including The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali and The Westin Copley Place, Boston.
