What Are The Best Places To Visit In The World? 2013 Award Winners

What are the best places to visit in the world? Isn’t this a question so many of us travelers ask?

This year, the top destinations in the world weren’t chosen by any one person in particular. TripAdvisor’s yearly list was compiled using the reviews and votes of over millions of travelers around the world. This is why I love their Traveler’s Choice awards so much, they are all chosen by the judges who really matter—tourists and travelers like you and I.

The official list is out with 25 of the most popular destinations in the world. The city coming in at number one doesn’t surprise me at all, however according to Mastercard it holds the third spot as one of the most popular destinations as based on the purchases made by travelers. (Purchases made on Mastercard that is.)

Personally, I find lists like this inspiring. I head over to Pinterest and pin them on my private “Bucket List” pinboard. My goal is to knock them all off in time, one after the other.

Without further adieu, here are the top 10 best destinations to visit in 2013. For the complete list of all 25, head on over to TripAdvisor.

London has actually dropped two spots from first place last year. It's a beauitful city that will win you over with its architecture, history and royalty. Besides the obvious touristy sights, there are also some cheeky things you can do in this city. For example, take a ride in a double-decker bus over to Buckingham Palace and try to make the guards laugh. It's next to impossible!
