Social Media Moms and NJ Digital Moms Join Forces to Give #JerseyLoveDebbie Bookstaber
Tourism is a powerful force for social good – globally and locally. UNESCO’s World Heritage Program protects global natural and cultural treasures by promoting sustainable tourism. While you may not have the budget to travel internationally, you can make a difference with your summer travel plans nonetheless.
We all remember seeing the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy on TV, but the media is less interested in covering the rebuilding or showing that the beautiful beach towns of the Jersey Shore are back in business. Tourism brings jobs to the Jersey shore. Without a good summer season, many small businesses– and even larger hotels– will not survive the year.
The Social Media Moms and NJ Digital Moms, together totaling over 150 bloggers and social media influencers who reach millions of moms, are joining forces to help show #JerseyLove on June 6-9th. More than 40 women from across the country will be flying into Atlantic City, NJ.
Caesars Entertainment is graciously hosting the bloggers as they work to show that the Jersey Shore is still a great place to vacation and visit through their tweets, video and blog posts.
One of their first stops will be Belmar, NJ for a #JerseyLove Beach Day. Hurricane Sandy swept away the Belmar Boardwalk, and the beach has been off-limits since the storm. The Belmar, NJ Beach is re-opening with a restored boardwalk in time for Memorial Day, the traditional start of the summer travel season.
Elizabeth Norton, the founder of NJ Digital Moms, has advocated for New Jersey residents and tourism for years. She told me, “I find few things more inspiring than powerful influential woman coming together to flex their social muscle. We will help lift the state of NJ and it’s residents up. This is our story. These are our neighbors. We are so thankful to feel loved and not forgotten.”
Kadi Prescott, founder of Social Media Moms, added, “We are honored to team up with the New Jersey Digital Moms to help rebuild what was so cruelly taken from then last year by Sandy. Together, we will flex our influence and the show the world the heart of social media.”
Please help spread the word by tweeting #JerseyLove and following the posts from the first ever social media for social good blogger trip in the US.
