People often ask me “What is the best parenting advice you were even given?” and I usually blank.
What? People really do ask me that a lot. Think about it, if you are off to interview a mommyblogger what are you going to ask her?
You are going to say “How did you decide to call them the Goon Squad?” and then you are going to say “What is the best parenting advice you were ever given?”
As the parent of twins I can say with all honesty that the most useful piece of parenting advice I was ever given is this:
You people that had one baby at a time might not realize how bad it hurts to carry two infant carriers across a hot parking lot, but you are going to have to take my word for it – it blows. But if you park next to the cart return you can just grab a cart load in your baby or babies or baby and kids and go on your merry way.
It is also really awesome on the way out. You never have to decide if you should leave your babies unsupervised in the hot car and risk arrest or push them all the way to cart return and then carry them back whimpering the whole way.
A ha! It is me, Goon Squad Sarah, with the stellar first world parenting advice.
I don’t know, what was the best parenting advice you were ever given?
