Celebrate The Spring Equinox

The Spring Equinox is happening on March 20th. What’s that? Well, I don’t know exactly. It’s something about the alignment of Earth’s equator in proximity to the sun, which basically indicates the day when we mark the end of winter and the arrival of spring at last. Hooray!

I love the symbolism of transitioning out of seasons and the earth waking up to warmer days, and the return of greenery and new life. It’s so refreshing! I’ve put together a few ideas to help you mark the occasion should you feel so inclined.

Welcome Spring, we’re so glad you’re here!

  • Decorate Some Eggs 1 of 7

Typically this is done at Easter, but I see no reason as to why we can't start sooner! Eggs are so symbolic (new life, rebirth, etc.) and decorating them is a fun way to get your kids involved and excited about about the change in seasons.

The Spring Equinox is technically a pagan celebration, so why not embrace your inner priestess by making your very own flower crown for the occasion. I can think of nothing lovelier!

This one's a no brainer. By the time spring finally rolls around I'm dying to get out of my neutrals in favor of something a bit more lively. What a fabulous way to welcome spring!

  • Watch The Sunrise 5 of 7

This one is only for those who are truly dedicated. But I can say with certainty, every time I have risen early to catch the sunrise, I have never been disappointed.

But only if the weather allows! Enjoy being outdoors whether it be on a rooftop, at the park, or in your backyard. The time spent with family and friends is such a luxury don't you think?

Hosting an equinox party can be a fun way to incorporate a bit of the symbolism and traditions associated with the day. This post does a great job explaining a few of these things and provides some beautiful inspiration as well. I think it looks like fun!
