Holiday Break SAVED!Cecily Kellogg
Yesterday was the last day of school for my daughter until the winter break ends. Blessedly her new school is only closed for about ten days; her kindergarten last year was closed for nearly three weeks!
As parents, we nearly went mad.
This year, of course, we have something amazing to combat the holiday break boredom the Xbox 360 with Kinect. THANK GOD. While I love playing with and engaging with my daughter, my work and my husband’s work doesn’t take a break for the holidays. As a result, she often has to entertain herself. While she has plenty of toys, she’s an only child and has a sort of wandering heart and mind so it’s hard to get her to do any one thing for long periods of time.
In addition, we have another family complication this year: my mom, who normally lives with us, will be hospitalized through the holiday. So my poor kid is FURTHER going to have to entertain herself as I go back and forth to the hospital.
Thankfully, the Xbox 360 will help. Not only will it entertain Tori, but frankly when she plays any of the dancing games, I get inspired to dance too. And I need to exercise as much as I can, particularly at this time of year! That holiday food is gonna add up, ya know? I just lost 30 pounds and I do not want to gain it back.
Anyway, I’m so grateful for this gaming system. It’s going to make the next ten days so much better.
