Ryan and Macklemore Meet Everyday SoundsEva Glettner
This is the most amazing thing you will hear in a while. A talented musician manipulates everyday sounds into a Ryan and Macklemore original. My favorite part? The ding on the microwave (or is it a toaster?) plays an integral role in the beat. LOVE IT. Click on the pic to the left and get ready to be blown away. And when you’re done, stick around for a Q and A with Stony’s World.
eva: Why did you choose this particular song?
Stony’s World: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are one of my favorite musical acts at the moment. They’re album The Heist was just absolutely amazing.
eva: As a musician, do you play around with every day sounds a lot?
Stony’s World: If there’s a drum stick in my hand, somethings getting played. Doesn’t matter what it is. A table, chair, my friends head. Doesn’t matter.
eva: Have you always been musically inclined?
Stony’s World: Kind of, I guess. Music is my main passion. My grandma told me that when I was young and she took me down to do laundry with her I would set up a chair in front of the washer and bang on it while singing. Wasn’t until I was 9 that I started studying the drums.
eva: Favorite instrument as a kid?
Stony’s World: Favorite instrument as a kid… definitely the drums! I’m also fascinated by violins…never played one though.
eva: What’s the next song you’re going to cover? I’m thinking Mumford and Sons could be crazy….
Stony’s World: Not sure what song i’ll cover next. Something with a good beat i’m thinking… you’re so right! Mumford and Song would be insane! Might give it a shot.
eva: My kid gets in trouble at school for tapping his pencil on the desk, what should I tell his teacher? A. If there’s a drum stick in my hand, somethings getting played. Doesn’t matter what it is. A table, chair, my friends head. Doesn’t matter.
Stony’s World: Tell the teacher to let your kid do a 10 second pencil tapping drum solo every time he gets a question right. Everybody wins!
