Molly Sims' baby shower was a gorgeous garden lunch hosted by friends. "I didn't want to torture people with shower games, so my friends and event planners came up with some pretty amazing alternatives," writes the actress and supermodel on her website. Guests were asked to stop by a scented oil station and create a special perfume for the mom-to-be, write letters to Baby, and add to a special piece jewelry.

Where would a Dodgers fan celebrate her baby shower? Dodger Stadium, of course! On August 14, baseball fan Alyssa Milano and her hubby, David Bugliari, shared the special day at the stadium with 35 friends, including Holly Robinson Peete, Colin Hanks, and Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter. Crumbs Bakery supplied the Dodgers cupcakes and the baby, due in September, will have his own baby-sized Dodgers jersey. Sounds like a homerun to us!

Mad Men co-star Christina Hendricks was just one of the friends that attended January Jones' beachside baby shower held in Malibu, California, on June 25, 2011. Hanging out on the patio and strolling along the beach were some of the activities enjoyed by the mom-to-be and guests. Jones wore a theme-fitting tropical flowered dress and was seen dipping her toes in the water and enjoying her day. The baby—which is the actress's first—is due this fall.

Jewel showed her country side on May 22, 2011, with her Texas-style baby shower. The shower was held in Jewel's hometown of Stephenville, Texas, and hosted by Belly Bandit. Beckham's shower, co-hosted by actress Eva Longoria and celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves, was a celebration for all things girly. Held at the private rooftop Butterfly Bar at West Hollywood's Hotel Le Petit Ermitage, this sweet soiree featured pink tablecloths and pink blossoms, topped off with an English garden tea party theme and a Princess cake with marzipan.

Surrounding yourself with friends and family is what having a baby shower is all about. Singer Alanis Morissette took that one step further when she invited her friends for a pre-baby henna party. Henna, a non-permanent dying stain, is designed on the top layer of skin to resemble tattoo art. Alanis' belly was elaborately decorated with the henna, and guests also got in on the action. This symbolic ritual is not just for celebs, henna kits are readily available and could be a special way to "mark" your big day. Kim Raver. So she came up with the idea of a having a "quilting station" as part of the baby shower activities. At the event, Brooke had all the guests create individual fabric squares that were later sown together to make a beautiful, one-of-a-kind baby blanket. This gift is truly a patchwork of love!

Ideas worthy of recycling are making absolutely everything organic and reusable—from soy candles dotting the party area, to real silverware and plates, to fabric napkins and tablecloths. Of course, the food and wine should be organically grown, and why not have party favors like flower seeds and tree saplings to plant at home—a gift that truly keeps on giving, ensuring green for years and years to come. Jessica Alba wanted to celebrate the arrival of her second child with husband Cash Warren in a low-key and personal way. That's why Alba and several of her BFF's decided to go the "do-it-yourself" route. This was a party all about hanging out with friends and getting crafty. The group created all their own decorations, including paper lanterns with butterflies, glittering water lilies, flower baskets, and homemade dragonflies. Alba then posted all their handiwork on Facebook for friends, family and of course, fans to enjoy! Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, welcomed daughter Honor Marie on June 7, 2008.
