10 Must Have Baby Items For The BeachLauren Jimeson
With Memorial Day coming up this weekend, that means it’s the beginning of beach weather! Avery is taking her first trip to the beach next month and I am so excited to get our family out in the sand and the sun.
As many of you know, packing for a trip with a baby is no easy task. Although they are little, they require a lot of stuff. Even for a simple day at the beach, it requires a car load of baby gear.
I’ve compiled a list of all of my must have items for traveling to the beach with a baby.
Check them out after the jump!
Sunglasses 1 of 10It's important to protect our baby's eyes while out in the sun. I love these Babiators sunglasses not only because they are super cute, but because they offer your baby's eyes 100% UVA UVB protection.
Get these from Babiators, $19.99
Outdoor Blanket 2 of 10We bring this Skip Hop Central Park Blanket with us every time we are doing an outdoor activity and will be sitting on the ground. It's perfect for the beach because it is water resistant and perfect for your little one to crawl around on. It even has a detachable cooler perfect for snacks and bottles.
Get this from Skip Hop, $45.00
Reusable Swim Diaper 3 of 10Avery doesn't wear cloth diapers (we don't have a washer and dryer in our apartment) but I love the idea of reusable swim diapers. Just pop them in the washer with the bathing suit once you are finished and it's ready for the beach the next day! So much more convenient than those heavy, bulky disposable swim diapers.
Get these from Diapers.com, $9.49
Sun Hat 4 of 10Floppy sun hats are so cute on babies. They can look adorable and protect their face and head from UV exposure at the same time. Look for ones that offer protection in the fabric, like this Flap Happy hat. It's also a great idea to have a chin strap so they are less likely to pull it off.
Get this from Flap Happy, $16.95
Sunscreen 5 of 10Sunscreen is an absolute must, not only at the beach, but any time you are taking your little one outside. I am a big fan of The Honest Company's sunscreen because it is all natural and organic, so I know it's safe to put on Avery's skin.

Sun Tent 6 of 10I want to keep Avery in the shade most of the time while we are at the beach and this little sun cabana is perfect for her. It allows her to still see whats going on outside, but keeps her protected inside. I also would love to have a bigger one so that both her and I can have fun in the shade together!
Get this from One Step Ahead, $49.95
Baby Beach Wrap 7 of 10Don't forget a towel for your little one. I love this Pottery Barn Kids hooded towel because it is soft and perfect to wrap your little baby in when they come out of the water. I even love that you can monogram their initials on it for extra cuteness.
Get this from Pottery Barn Kids, $19.00
Tote 8 of 10I really don't want to bring my diaper bag out on the beach. I don't want it getting wet nor do I want to be getting sand out of it for the next couple of months. I have a water resistant tote that is designated just for the beach and for all of Avery's diapers, wipes, bottles, etc.
Get this from Pottery Barn Kids, $49.50
Travel Crib 9 of 10If we are going to be about on the beach all day I know Avery is going to need somewhere to nap. A travel crib is a must for us at the beach. This Phil and Teds traveller is great because it weighs only 7lbs and can easily fit almost anywhere. What's even better is that it offers a optional UV protectant sunshade on top to protect your little one from the sun while sleeping.
Get this from Phil and Teds, $179.99
Toys 10 of 10Much like my diaper bag, I like to keep baby toys sand free. That's why I bring toys that are only designated for the beach. To keep them entertained while at the beach, I have stocked up on a bunch of beach toys. I personally like Melissa and Doug because they are sturdy and last for many summers!
Get this from Melissa and Doug, $9.99
