In the past with my older boys, I have had supply issues when it comes to breastfeeding. In fact with my oldest supply issues ended my breastfeeding relationship earlier than I would have liked!

My middle son was just a nightmare to nurse and that is just a different story altogether.

With Addison thankfully we only had a couple minor bumps in the road. But I wanted to write something up about boosting your supply if it is something you need to do.

From breast pumps to all natural herbal supplements, and of course nursing more frequently, here is my list of the top 7 ways, and tricks that helped me boost my personal breast milk supply!

Please feel free to share your own tips and tricks in the comment section!

1. Nurse frequently. If you are nursing frequently, nurse some more! The more your body feels a “demand” to make milk, the more milk you will typically make!

2. Offer both breasts at each feeding. Let your baby nurse until they unlatch, or fall asleep, and repeat!

3. Pump frequently, even when you aren’t with your baby! Some studies show that using a double electric breast pump for 10-15 minutes can increase your prolactin levels meaning you will produce more milk!

4.When you are working on boosting your supply, skip the pacifier! Use the actual breast as a comforting measure. It will calm baby down, and also help to boost your supply!

5.Drink a lot of water and stay hydrated any way you can! Don’t force yourself to drink more than you want to though!

6.A lot of women swear by Fenugreek which is an all natural supplement. I know it certainly helped me to boost my supply. Downside? You smell like maple syrup all the time!

7.Milkin’ Cookies! This is by far my favorite way to boost your supply. Milkin’ Cookies are delicious cookies you can buy online and they help boost your supply without tasting horribly!
