8 Simple Baby Meal Ideas

Nom Nom Nom!

Now that Addie is 10 months old meal time is starting to take a mature turn from purees and puffs to actual finger foods. By the way, she is such an amazing pro with using her pincher skills eating food I have to totally be in awe of my little girl.

None of my children had such hand skills at this age.

Of course we are still doing “baby food” which really consists of some organic brown rice cereal and fresh veggie/fruit purees I have made in my Baby Brezza but most meals are something she can sit down and work on feeding herself.

I feel like my little girl is so big… where did all of the time go?

I wanted to share my favorite “typical” meals in our house.

What are some of your older baby meals?

  • Mixed Veggies 1 of 8
    Mixed Veggies
Mixed and steamed veggies are my favorite to give her.
They are healthy and hopefully actually helping to create a love for vegetables.

  • Yogurt & Fruit 2 of 8
    Yogurt & Fruit
    I love YoBaby Yogurt!
We have used it with all of our kids! A yogurt and then some small fruit sliced up like bananas is a great option.
    Perfect for breakfast!

  • Avocado Slices 3 of 8
    Avocado Slices
Another favorite of Addie's and mine is avocado slices.
She loves picking them up and eating them all on her own and of course they are super good for her!

  • Beans 4 of 8
We eat a lot of black beans because her brothers are OBSESSED with them.
She really loves using her fingers to eat them herself so I will typically keep some to the side for her.
Plus, Beans are so awesome for her diet!

  • Scrambled Eggs 5 of 8
    Scrambled Eggs
She used to really love scrambled eggs but I think she kind of got burnt out on them a little.
Eggs are hit or miss because some wait till after a year old to include them in a baby's diet.
Of course it is up to each parent right?

  • Pasta 6 of 8
    All kinds of pastas!
Cheese filled, pasta with sauce, maybe some butter...
    She loves it all!

  • Rice 7 of 8
It may not be the easiest thing to eat but she loves picking up hand fulls of rice and shoving it in her mouth.
It is nice to be able to share a variety of different foods with her as well.

  • Cheerios 8 of 8
This little girl loves Cheerios and cereal in general.
Even with two little teeth she goes to town!
