Check Your Shelves: Plum Organics Baby Food Recall

Plum Organics has announced a recall of a number of their squeeze pouches! The pouches are from the Baby Stage 2, Tots Mish Mash, and Kids lines.

The recall is voluntary, and in a press release, the President of Plum Organics simply stated that the contents of the pouches may be spoiled due to a manufacturing defect that causes the pouches to swell. He also pointedly asked that parents not feed these pouches to their children, even if the pouches have not swelled.

The pouches that have been recalled have “Best By” dates from 08/05/14 to 12/08/14 and are followed by the letters “AT.”

What do you do if you find a recalled pouch on your shelf?

1. Go HERE and request a voucher for a refund.

2. Or, send an email to info@plumorganics.com with subject line “Replacement Voucher” and the following information: first and last name, full address (street, apt #, city, state, zip code), phone number, Best By date, and number of affected pouches.

3. Or, call them at 866-495-3774.

4. Toss it!

Those pouches of food are so convenient, and I love that they are organic. But yikes, this makes me want to bust out the food mill and make my own baby food for a while!

Does this recall affect you? Do you have one of the contaminated pouches?
