One Day I Will Finish My Daughters Nursery

I started working on my daughters nursery sometime in January.

I knew from the start it was going to be an owl themed room with as much pink as I could jam pack into it after having two boys and nothing but blue, fire trucks, and sports for three years.  I guess it is just a woman thing… right?

Well Addisons unplanned early arrival really messed with my schedule, as well as the fact that I have two toddlers under three years old… finding a healthy balance between work, entertaining, and of course actually keeping up with cleaning, laundry, and everything else on my plate shortly became overwhelming when I could no longer see my feet.

I certainly tried pretty hard to get things done on time. And I really hope I can get it all finished before my daughter actually becomes a teen and is no longer interested in her owl themed nursery.

This is how it all began. Our spare bedroom, or as I still call it… glorified storage area that we could actually walk into.

Then we made some progress, built the crib, and then it seemed like my progress stopped forever…

Then I started nesting, and my husband started nesting along side of me… he helped me get all the wall decorations up, some of which I am starting to double think at this point…

When I say getting there… I mean it probably looks the best in this picture that it did thus far, and this was about two months before Addison joined our family.

Her crib… No fancy bedding set… but I do have the safe Wonder Bumpers which are not a SIDS risk, because I am deathly afraid of traditional crib bumpers in general.  Also, I just bought a flat fitted sheet made by Carters to go along with it.  But alas, she doesn’t sleep in the crib… yet at least.

Then the decorative rug which already needs to be cleaned. Somehow it ended up with dirt on it, despite my NO SHOES policy!

And her dresser… full of clothes. Which this little girl will be dressed in style for her entire life!

But of course… my mission in the next couple weeks is to actually finish it.  I have a second dresser that will also double as a changing table, and then the swing still needs to be built. Thankfully we haven’t needed it yet.

I certainly will be sure to show everyone pictures once we have the 100% finished product!

Did you finish your nursery before your little one came?
