We’re Back, Baby!

1939199_10104222694897423_387375766_oIt seems like only yesterday that I was saying goodbye to Babble Baby and moving onto Babble Toddler. While it has only been six months since telling the many adventures of Avery here on the baby channel, there are so many things that have happened.

Avery is a full on toddler! She turns 2 this week and has taken the role as a big sister to her new little brother, Macks.

Macks was born on February 10, weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces and is 20 inches long. He is our first boy in a house full of girls. While the idea of having blue everywhere is going to take some getting used to, I am so thrilled to enter the world of boys!

Although Macks made us wait a little bit longer than we expected, he came into this world very quickly and easily and for that I cannot complain. He is now 3 weeks old, and we are still trying to get adjusted to life as a family of five.

I’ve been very lucky to have help at home. My husband took two weeks of paternity leave to help with the girls while Macks and I took the time we needed to get to know one another and get our breastfeeding on track.

My mother-in-law is now in town to help for a couple of weeks. If there is one thing that I’ve learned from having three kids, it’s to allow help whenever it is offered to you. I am no super mom and a newborn by itself is tough work. There is no way I’d be able to take care of the baby and both girls this early in the game. I am so grateful for my family for being willing to help.

I am looking forward to documenting Macks journey on Babble Baby just as I did with Avery. It’s so special to me to be able to look back at these moments and see how much they have grown. I hope you all will enjoy this journey with us and that we can learn together! Because, yes, even as a mother of three, I am still learning too!
