Woman Arrested for Breastfeeding a Stranger's BabyMeredith Carroll
Some moms aren’t into breastfeeding. Others are, but would only allow their children to drink their own milk. Other moms donate their breast milk to woman who don’t have their own supply. Some women actually nurse children who aren’t their own. Opinions on the topic vary greatly.
What most women — and people in general — can probably agree upon, however, is that it is horrible how one woman broke into a home and breastfed a stranger’s baby.
To be sure, it’s not that it’s necessarily horrible that a baby nursed from a non-relative. It’s that the woman nursing the baby was a total stranger. And, you know, she broke into a house to do it.
A 24-year-old woman in South Dakota was arrested on Sunday after a mom found her breastfeeding her 2-month-old baby in her bedroom, according to The Huffington Post (via radio station KJJQ).
The mom called 911, although that didn’t cause the strange woman didn’t flee. Instead she stayed in the room — on the bed — until the cops arrived.
The woman was charge with unlawful occupancy. Although it seems that there is more to this crime than simply breaking and entering. That is, of course, depending on your opinion of breastfeeding another woman’s baby.
Do you think it should be a crime to nurse another woman’s baby without permission?
