10 Colored Mascaras to Make Your Eyes POP!

Gosh Cosmetics Deep Forest Green MascaraI feel naked without mascara. It’s definitely one of my top 3 makeup must-haves (tinted moisturizer and under-eye concealer being the other two). Since most moms don’t have time for elaborate makeup routines, myself included, I’m always on the lookout for quick solutions to add interest and color like a great lipstick, inexpensive eyeliners, and one of summer’s biggest makeup trends, colored mascara. It’s inexpensive and hey, we all know how to put on mascara, right?

I have grayish blue eyes but when I wear green mascara, they suddenly appear pale green. That’s me wearing Gosh Cosmetics mascara in deep forest green. The photo is completely untouched or filtered and I’m wearing minimal, 30-second makeup.

Believe it or not, most colored mascara is very subtle, which means you can wear it anywhere without looking overdone. If you find a shade that complements your eye color, it’s barely noticeable but has a big impact on your overall look. Purple, green, navy, and burgundy are surprisingly neutral and pair well with most eye colors. Try a pink or yellow shade if you want to go bold and stand out. You don’t even have to wear full eye makeup; just throw on a coat or two, and you’re good to go!

Have you ever tried a mascara color other than traditional black or brown? Here’s a round up of the best colored mascaras to turn up the volume and make your eyes really stand out:
