They say everything old eventually becomes new again and that’s certainly true of hairstyles!
This is a fantastic time for “retro” hair including throwbacks to just about every decade. The ’30s, ’40s, and ’60s have been a huge influence on modern style trends, thanks to popular television shows and movies like Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, Downton Abbey, and The Great Gatsby.
Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of looks that are reminiscent of more recent decades. The ’80s and ’90s were an interesting time for hair … to say the least. Some popular styles were pretty over-the-top back then but are downright cool when re-imagined with a modern twist.
In fact, many of the hairstyles that are currently in vogue are surprisingly similar to ones you might have worn as a teen. Simple tweaks like placement, styling, and contemporary cutting techniques can take a blast from the past and make it look new and fresh.
