7 Days of Beauty: A Strategy For Busy MomsSonya Benham
You’ve heard it a million times, but it never stops being true: It’s really important to take care of yourself. Unfortunately, it’s really hard for mothers, especially new mothers, to squeeze in beauty routines. I find it easiest to treat myself to one teeny-tiny bit of pampering each day. Assigning a small bit of maintenance to a day of the week helps it become routine. Here 7 mini-indulgences for busy moms, but you can swap these out for anything you prefer. The important thing is to do something nice for yourself every day!

Monday – Exfoliate Your Skin 2 of 8
As we age, our skin loses the ability to shed skin cells as quickly, leading to dull skin, clogged pores, and blotchiness. Start your week fresh-faced by sloughing off dead cells with an exfoliating cleanser. I love these awesome scrubby pads. They are super easy to use and combine manual exfoliation with chemical exfoliation in the form of fruit acids.

Tuesday – File Your Nails 3 of 8
Maintaining your fingernails is important for no other reason than to keep them from accidentally scratching your baby! Polish is optional, but I like to take a few minutes to at least trim, file, and glob on some cuticle butter.
Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is available at Burt's Bees. $6
Wednesday – Deep Condition Hair 4 of 8
Once a week, apply a deep conditioning mask in the shower in place of your everyday conditioner. It doesn't get any easier than that, but it will really improve the health of your hair and scalp. Ask your stylist for a product that is right for your hair type and concerns.
Paul Mitchell Intensive Keratin Treatment retails for $27 at Paul Mitchell salons.
Thursday – Pamper Tired Feet 5 of 8
Keep a foot rasp or file in your shower and give your heels and any other dry, rough, or peeling areas a good once over. This only takes a minute and will ward off painful corns and callouses that can keep a momma from playing at full capacity. Don't forget to follow up with a great foot lotion post shower.
The Microplane Colossal Pedicure Foot Rasp found on Amazon. $13.35
Friday – Shape Your Eyebrows 6 of 8
If you aren't confident with your brow abilities, it's a good idea to get eyebrows professionally shaped. You can easily maintain the shape afterward with a good old-fashioned tweezer if you pluck once a week.
Tweezerman Slant Tweezer can be purchased at Tweezerman. $22
Saturday – Enjoy a Face Mask 7 of 8
Whether it's date night or not, treating yourself to nice soothing, firming, or plumping face mask will make you feel fresh and dewy after a long week. Any kind of face mask you prefer will do, but I love the convenience of a face sheet. Just unfold, apply, relax for a few minutes, and toss.

Sunday – Take a Bath 8 of 8
A great way to end the week is with a nice, relaxing bath. Turn off the phone, send the kids to the park with Dad, and grab a magazine. You've earned it, Momma. If it's not going to happen, treat yourself to a nice body scrub in the shower instead. It only takes an extra minute to slough off dead skin, smooth rough areas, and feel ultra soft.
L'Occitane Lavender Bath Salts found at L'Occitane. $24
