Beauty Rx: How to Create an Anti-Aging Skincare Routine

Hello! My question is about skin care products, is it okay to have different products with different properties to use in my skin, I am 42 years old and I have fine lines with freckles (which by the way I was told recently that when we get older they are called sunspots, what the heck! Rude awakening for me). I want it all, retinoid, vit c, peptides, sunscreen, antioxidants. And how do I use these daily? Thank you.

I think deciding what skincare to use, especially when opting to change up your routine to address new concerns, is incredibly confusing. There are so many skin care options out there today and it can be very overwhelming!

For a while I’ve had a post about how to start your own anti-aging skincare routine on my blog, but it has already been four years and I was pretty general in my recommendations.

Here’s what I tell readers they need in their skincare routine. Do you need all of these products? Probably not. You can pick and choose what will work best for you, but hopefully these tips will help you sort through the available products. I’ve listed items generally in the order that you would use them, but read about how to apply your skincare in the correct order to be sure you’ll be getting the most out of each product.
