Betty Draper (Francis) is such a fun Halloween costume because you not only get to search for and buy a gorgeous vintage dress, but it’s a relatively easy costume to pull off if you already have blonde hair, long or short. But obviously, you can buy a wig just as easily!
I went as Betty Draper for Halloween a few years ago and had a blast creating the costume. Even if I didn’t get the hair down perfectly because I was running late my party guests were arriving early, I still pulled it off.
Betty’s makeup is a cinch! She keeps it simple and classic with a winged cat eye, faux lashes, red lips, and soft pearly pink nails.
False Eyelashes $19 at Sephora (or about $4.99 at your local beauty supply), Red Lipstick YSL Rouge Volupte $39 at Sephora, a great clean cat eye, Benefit BADgal Liner $24 at Sephora and a pearly pink nail polish like Marc Jacobs Enamored Nail Lacquer in 102 Daisy $22 at Sephora
Next up: hair. I have long hair, but creating a Faux Bob is easy as easy as 1…2…3…

Since I was in such a hurry that evening, I didn’t get the hair down perfectly, but it worked since it had a hint of a ’60s feel. It was just a bit messy for Betty. I actually think it looked more Betty-esque in my Faux Bob hair tutorial photo above; but again, it worked.
Though it’s difficult to see in the photo, I loved the vintage dress I found on Etsy a few years ago.
