I have always had dry, not pretty skin on my legs. I know, that sentence sounds kind of gross, but what I mean is that I’m really super pale and I have never had the kind of soft supple skin you see in moisturizer ads. No matter how much lotion I used, my skin would just soak it up like a sponge. OH I am so covetous of nice legs. But I digress. Ahem. Anyway…
And in the summer? There’s nothing sadder for a pale girl than having worked for twelve weeks at a tan (through 30 spf sunblock no less, because lobsters aren’t sexy) only to find that her skin is so dry and splotchy it’s starting to look like that time she contracted something funky during her trip to Puerto Vallarta on spring break. (What?)
What I’m trying to say is that over the years, I’ve culled a collection of high-intensity, non-greasy body moisturizers that work on my super dry skin, and now I am going to share them with you.
Let’s get moisturized. 1 of 7
Bliss Body Butter 2 of 7
Egyptian Magic 3 of 7
Weleda Body Oil 4 of 7
I can't say enough good things about this stuff. A word to the wise: it has a pretty strong fragrance (like essential oils), so only use this if you're a fan of that type of scent (I clearly am). The scent does fade within the hour. (Buy it on Amazon for $18.31)
The Body Shop Body Butter 5 of 7
The smell of this stuff takes me right back to high school. (Right now it's less than $5 on Amazon.)
Aveda Botanical Kinetic Hydrating Lotion 6 of 7
The priciest lotion on the list at $49.99 for 5 fl oz, Botanical Kinetics from Aveda is also one of the most luxurious I've ever owned.
