Do you pay attention to your eyebrows?
I’ve heard it said a number of times that it’s probably one of the most neglected areas of our face when it comes to daily makeup and beauty routines.
That may be, in part, from women not knowing what to do with them, or it may be that we are so used to seeing them that we don’t think they need any adjusting.
Eyebrows frame the face and can even alter how your face shape looks in some cases. Eyebrows that are too short can make your face look fuller, and eyebrows that are too severe or angled can make your face look stronger and sort of angry!
The key when filling in and shaping your brows is to not overdo it. I’ve seen too many women layering on the dark pencil to create a full brow look, but it just looks fake and severe.
Stick to a color as close to your natural brow color as possible. If your brows are lighter than your hair color, go ahead and add some depth to your brows to complement your hair color.
I’ve listed a few products below, and included who they are best for, to get you started on your eyebrow filling endeavors!
Anastasia Brow Wiz 1 of 6
These Anastasia brow pencils have become very popular in the last year. I think it's a combination of the fine point, which allows you the most precision, and a great variety of colors.
Pixi Natural Brow Duo 2 of 6
If you like options, this brow duo by Pixi is a great makeup product. You can fill in any sparse areas with the pencil, and bring everything together with the mousse.
Benefit Gimme Brow 3 of 6
A brow mousse, like this one from Benefit, is a great option for women who have plenty of (or enough) eyebrow hairs, but just need to define them a bit and keep them in place. Apply this like you would apply mascara on your eyelashes.
Brow Box by Urban Decay 4 of 6
For anyone who wants definition with their eyebrows, but is afraid of them looking too "penciled on," grab an eyebrow powder like this one. Similar to eyeshadow, but always completely matte, you can make your brows look thicker and even extend them a bit with a fine angled brush and some eyebrow powder.
Covergirl Brow and Eye Makers Pencil 5 of 6
You can't beat the price of these brow pencils. As long as you keep the tip nice and pointy, they should give you great precision and color.
NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder 6 of 6
This product comes with a wax that will help control unruly brows and add to the longevity of the color applied as well. Use an angled brush to stroke on the wax first, then follow with the appropriate color.
