Sunburn, windburn, dry climates, dehydrated skin …
All these factors can contribute to dry, flaky lips. And if you spend time making sure your skin looks good, why not do the same for your lips?
It’s nearly impossible to make lipstick look good on dry, chapped lips. Exfoliating and hydrating your pout will both feel good and make your lipstick look better. It can also help your lipstick last longer, and that’s a perk that no woman can pass up!
We could probably exfoliate our lips as often as we exfoliate our face, but it’s usually the forgotten step. I typically grab my lip exfoliator and exfoliate while I’m in the shower. That way it’s easy to rinse off the product, and the steam helps soften the skin on my lips as well.
I picked a few of my favorite lip exfoliators, as well as hydrating treatments, to get you started on your pout-enhancing journey!

Using a specific lip primer prior to applying lipstick will ensure a longer-lasting lip color and prevent feathering or wearing off better than using just a lip balm.
