Start to Finish: My Daytime Beauty Routine

daytimebeautyroutine theartmuse

As you can see, I really play up my eyes when I apply makeup. I have very thin lashes and yellow/olive tone skin. My son ended up with long beautiful lashes. So not fair! Over the years, I’ve been able to transform my eyes within minutes. I’ve even applied eye makeup without a mirror while sitting in the back of a moving car (don’t ever try that). I’ve got the basic — errand running, teacher meeting, conference going, lunch with friends and the oh, no I’m late — look down to a science.

My daytime beauty routine takes about 20 minutes (not including hair, which typically gets done the night before when I’m in super-organized mode). I always wash, moisturize with SPF, apply foundation, play up my eyes and eyebrows, wear blush and lip gloss, and set my makeup with pressed powder. And done!

  • Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub 1 of 12

There's nothing like starting the day off with Neutrogena's Oil Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub. I really feel like I am cleansing my skin well, and it smells super refreshing.

  • Artistry Time Defiance Toner 2 of 12

After using Neutrogena's Pink Grapefruit face scrub, I don't want to use a toner that is too strong on my skin. The Artistry Time Defiance Conditioning Toner is very gentle. It's made with oat extract and chamomile so it's very soothing.

  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion, SPF 15 3 of 12

Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Face Lotion with SPF 15 is the next step in my routine. My lotions must have SPF! Makeup goes on just fine over this moisturizer.

  • Ecopure Peptide Collagen Skin 4 of 12

I just love the way Epocure Peptide Collagen Skin serum feels. I always mix products and lotions. I apply a little bit on my face but most of it goes on my neck!

  • L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup 5 of 12

This is my go-to foundation for everything: L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup in Sand Beige. It goes on smooth and matches my skin. Perfection.

  • L’Oreal True Match Powder 6 of 12

I set my makeup (and control shine!) with L'Oreal True Match Powder.

  • Artistry Sequined Rose Sheer Cheek Color 7 of 12

If you checked out my post on 8 Peach and Rose Blushes for Olive Skin, then you saw this blush: Artistry Sequined Rose Sheer Cheek Color.

  • L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Crayon Concealer 8 of 12

I can't leave the house these days without concealer. I really like L'Oreal's True Match Blendable Crayon Concealer. Super easy to carry in my makeup bag, it really brightens up my eyes and covers up those little imperfections.

  • Mary Kay Love Lash 9 of 12

Like I said, I need eyelash support whenever I go out. Mary Kay's Love Lash does the trick for day. It doesn't clump, which is very important when you only have, like, three lashes per lid!

  • Mary Kay Eye Liner 10 of 12

The gel eye liner you see in the collage is actually no longer available because it was a limited edition. Mary Kay's liquid eye liner, however, is really great too. I always do a cat eye so I stock up on gel and liquid eye liners.

  • MAC Charcoal Brown 11 of 12

I change my hair color often, but when it's dark, I go with a color like MAC's Charcoal Brown to fill in my eyebrows.

  • Neutrogena MoistureShine Gloss in Nutri Berry 12 of 12

Neutrogena's MoistureShine Gloss collection is great for any time of day. I really like the Nutri Berry and Pure Cider. I always have one in my purse.
