When it comes to eyeliner, the three easiest formulas to work with are liquid, kohl and gel.
A kohl pencil is the easiest to work with and will allow you to sharpen the tip to achieve a thin or thick line. A smudge tool can blend it out a bit to soften a line that may be too harsh, but it can also be left as is for a bold, crisp line.
A gel eyeliner, when applied with an angled brush, will allow you to press the eyeliner into your lash line for a seamless finish. It’s also great to use for “line locking,” which is ensuring any skin showing between your lashes is covered with liner.
Lastly, a liquid liner, which may be a little difficult to get used to at first, can create the most precise cat eye. It can also be used for “line locking” or dotting between the lashes to bulk up the lash line.
If you are starting out as a beginner, stick with kohl liner. If you feel like you have mastered the art, experiment with liquid and flick the ends out to spice up your eye a bit.
