10 Ways to Wing It: Chicken Wing Recipes for Game Day

I checked in with my husband earlier this week and asked him what he wanted to eat for the Saturday football game (I may have asked last week and just completely forgot, oops)…he stated, Wings.

We are a wing-loving household. Well, a wing-loving half-a-household. I love the idea of wings, the sauces, the celery and blue cheese…but I’m just not a huge chicken on the bone fan. My son takes after me. My husband and daughter however can eat enough wings for all four of us –and that is quite alright with me, because I still love making them.

These wings shown here are a homemade version of our favorite wings to order out at a local restaurant called Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. The wings are baked up in a hot coal fired oven with loads of garlic, rosemary and olive oil. They are pretty delicious (though I don’t like chicken on the bone, I can spot delicious food a mile a way and will never pass up a taste of delicious food). The best part of the way they serve their wings, in my opinion,  is the heaping pile of caramelized onions that top the wings, and the perfectly baked and seasoned focaccia triangles along the side. That’s my favorite part, but the wings I have to say are pretty outstanding on their own.
