22 Recipes To Celebrate Dia De Los Muertos / Day Of The Dead

Day of the Dead

Dia De Los Muertos is ultimately a festive celebration of loved ones lost. People build altars in memory of their near and dear who have passed into the afterlife. Those altars are adorned with offerings of pan de muerto, marigold flowers, sugar skulls (calaveras), pictures, fruit, candles, and some even offer a shot of alcohol. These offerings are laid there on the altar for the spirit of the dead to enjoy.

People also gather at the cemetery on November 2nd and leave favored foods of their departed on the grave site. Other people gather with family and friends and have a celebration in remembrance of those gone. The recipes in this gallery can be used to honor the memory of your loved ones spirit this day of the dead. Viva Dia De Los Muertos!
