Better Than Starbucks: Hot Caramel Apple Cider at HomeKelsey Banfield
My summer drink is iced skim chai, my fall drink is hot chai in the morning and caramel apple cider in the afternoon. I can’t help myself, I adore apple cider! When the days are too hectic for me to get to Starbucks I simply make my own drink at home. We usually have fresh apple cider from our local orchard in the fridge for my daughter so I use that to make my own drink. She doesn’t like her cider warm yet, which is fine with me. She prefers to drink it with her lunch still chilled from the fridge. I think my favorite part about making this is how warm and cozy I feel after finishing it. It is the perfect warm drink for fall, and it is so easy to make at home! Here’s how:
Caramel Apple Cider
1 1/2 cups apple cider
1 tablespoon caramel topping
How to Make a Better Than Starbucks Hot Caramel Cider at Home: Warm 1 1/2 cups of fresh cider on the stovetop until just before boiling. Pour it into a heatproof glass and swirl in just a small teaspoon of caramel. Then top the cider with a dollop of whipped cream and drizzle a little more caramel on top. Enjoy!
