Smoothies are the ultimate tool in any parent’s nutritional arsenal, and this creamy delicious, dairy free smoothie hit all the right spots. Blueberries bring fiber and vitamins A and K, while spinach is big on iron, and vitamin A, C, and K. Adding avocado to the mix brings a big nutrition boost with lots of vitamin C, K and folate; in addition, the healthy fats in avocado help the body to better absorb nutrients.
Blueberry, Spinach, and Avocado Smoothie
2 cups orange juice or water
2 cups spinach
1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
1 banana, fresh or frozen
1 cup ice
1/2 an avocado
Place the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth. Add more juice or water as needed.
