Football Tostada

Someone catch that pass. You can hold your football-shaped tostada in your hand as you watch the Super Bowl this Sunday and reenact your favorite play. Or simply toss it right into your mouth. These festive football tostadas will spruce up your SB table and give it the final touch you’ve been looking for. You and your guests will crumble over the crisp crunch of the tostada topped with creamy refried beans, a little taste of cheese and stitched with lines of sour cream. Enjoy the game!

Ingredients for Football Tostada:

  • football stencil (DIY with pen and paper)
  • corn tortillas (king size)
  • vegetable oil
  • refried beans
  • strips of jack cheese
  • sour cream

  1. On a piece of paper outline the circle of a corn tortilla. Cut it out.
  2. Within the circle draw the shape of a football. Cut it out.
  3. Place football shape stencil on top of the tortilla and cut around the edges to obtain your football shaped tortilla. Make as many as you’d like. Set to the side.
  4. In a frying pan over a medium flame pour enough vegetable oil to have 1 inch depth. Allow oil to get hot.
  5. Place a football shaped tortilla into the oil and fry on each side for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel lined plate.
  7. Then with the back of a spoon add refried beans and spread to the shape of the tostada
  8. Top two thin 1/2 inch slices of cheese to each side.
  9. Then put sour cream into a piping instrument and stitch sour cream across the center of the tostada.
  10. Enjoy!
