Girl Scout Cookie season is the coveted time of shamelessly ordering multiple boxes of our favorite treats, and then hoarding them. Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, and Peanut Butter Patties reign superior over store-bought cookies. With General Mills announcing the launch of Girl Scout Cookie cereal, the offseason withdrawal is over.
General Mills confirmed that Thin Mints and Caramel Crunch cereals will be stocked in stores across the United States — though exact stores are not specified — this January. And we can’t wait! The Caramel Crunch flavor is similar to Caramel deLites, or Samoas depending on where you live. Girl Scouts of America and General Mills working together to create the ultimate cereal? That sounds like a match made in heaven.
As a former Girl Scout, these cookies were my pride and joy. Seeing my neighbors’ faces light up when I knocked on their doors, wearing my badge-covered sash, was one of my favorite times of the year. My mom even shipped me a box when I studied abroad. So knowing that all of the cookie-obsessed children, and parents, can enjoy these fan favorites in cereal form is a wonderful surprise.
Once January comes around, I know how I’ll be celebrating the new year! Who needs resolutions when you could have Girl Scout Cookie cereal instead?
