How to Make your own Dry Rub! Just in time for Labor Day

Dry rubs are a wonderful way to impart flavor into your grilled meats. There’s no reason to buy a premixed rub mix when you can make your very own right at home. If you’re anything like me you have lots of spices in the cabinet. My husband loves to grill and comes up with some delicious rubs and sauces. I’m going to be sharing a few of them with you over the next week as we’re gearing up for Labor Day Grilling! Up first is his custom bbq rub. It’s perfect for just about any meat you’d like to grill!

Best part about this rub? It makes 1 half pint jar of rub and will keep for a few months. It makes a great host/hostess gift too, so if you’re heading to a Labor Day Grilling/BBQ Party, make an extra jar to take with, your host/hostess with thank you!

BBQ Dry Rub
What you’ll need:
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic granules
2 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
3 tablespoons brown sugar – packed
1 teaspoon celery salt

What to do:
1. Place everything into a small bowl. Mix together with a whisk or fork until everything is well combined.

2. Transfer mixture to a mason jar. Seal until you are ready to use.
