When I saw these beautiful and delicate meringue roses pop up on my Facebook page over the weekend… I had to share them here. My blogging friend, Zoe Francois is a master baker and best-selling cookbook author. I’m not a master baker… by any stretch… so when I want to bake something really special I stop by her blog for ideas.
These roses are piped on top of a summery lemon sponge cake layered with lemon curd. She has a how-to video of the process on her website as well as great photos of each step. It’s the kind of recipe you’ll want to practice before you attempt it for a special occasion. Once you master it, you’ll want to create this cake as a show-stopper for graduation, a milestone birthday or perhaps next Mother’s Day.
