Gather your favorite tiny humans, and invite them to gather they’re beloved dolls and stuffies. It’s time for a teeny, tiny picnic, and we’ve got just the treat — Mini Doll Donuts! These adorable little sweets are actually little Multigrain Cheerios, dipped into pink candy melts and sprinkled with rainbow sprinkles. Easy and adorable, this is a great kitchen craft to keep your kiddos busy, engaged, and practicing those fine motor skills.
The activities are endless with these teeny-weeny party snacks! For St. Patrick’s Day, make mini rainbow donuts to catch the leprechaun; over the holidays, pull out that Elf on a Shelf and have your kids make special treats for the little guy.
Here’s how to make them:
Start with a box of Multigrain Cheerios. Any kind of Cheerios (or similar cereal) will work, but the multigrain colors make for fun donut canvases.
Grab some chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or candy melts. If you’re going for the rainbow donut look, you’ll want candy melts in every color.
A little goes a long way! Place just a few candy melts on a microwave-safe plate, melting them just until soft. Dip the top half of each Cheerio in the melted chocolate.
Then, dip into sprinkles. If you’d prefer a more accurate “sprinkled donut” look, just pinch a few sprinkles in your fingers and sprinkle on top.
Now you’ll need tiny little jewelry boxes or dollhouse plates … whatever teeny-weeny container you can find! We found these cute little 1″ x 2″ jewelry boxes, and pressed a sticker on top.
Allow your donuts to cool completely. Then gather them up and get ready to package (or present) them!
Place a few donuts in your boxes, and tada! They make the sweetest tiny treats ever.
Note: If you opt for a party, place donuts on tiny doll plates. Add wee tea cups with milk, and you’ve got a pixie-sized party. Enjoy!
