My son is at that age where he wants to watch a movie again and again and over and over and right after it finishes he wants to “put it on again.” That is what my household is like right now, and the movie of choice is Cars! He runs into the kitchen and in his little 4 year old voice he requests all his favorite snacks. I just know that with that comes a load of unwanted sugar, he may want it but I don’t.  I put together this wholesome snack mix, and tell him it’s “Mater the pick-up truck’s” snack mix.  He sits in front of our television reciting every line of the Cars dialogue and eats his snack mix. He’s happy with his treat and so am I.

  • On The Open Road 1 of 4

This wholesome snack mix is great for those days on the road or watching your favorite movie. I made it with my son in mind, but I have to admit I love it too!

  • Ingredients 2 of 4

Place all the ingredients in a bowl.

  • Mix It Up 3 of 4

I use two spoons to mix up my snack mix.

  • Divide 4 of 4

Either pour 1/2 cup portions into cups or bowls or store in ziplock bags for a school lunch box snack.

Ingredient’s for Mater’s Pick-Up Snack Mix:

  • 1/2 – cup multi grain cereal

  1.  Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
